Meet Josie Earnhardt:
Elite Performance Coach.
Meet Josie Earnhardt
Josie has a unique perspective of the EQ training program because of going through it both as a player and implementing it as a coach. Playing for Coach Heather Macy early in her career allowed her to witness the differences that this training made.
With the help of morning and night routines, positive self-talk, and taking care of her body as an athlete among other things, Josie went on to have a successful division II playing career after leaving Coach Macy at the Junior College.
She joined the women’s basketball staff in the summer of 2023 as an assistant coach after a five-year playing career. This has allowed her to be a part of in person training and guiding young athletes so they can see the benefits as quickly as she did.
Josie started her playing career at NCAA Division III Hiram College in Ohio, where she played one season, appearing in 26 games, averaging 8.5 points off the bench and shooting 32.5 percent from three-point range.
She transferred to NJCAA Spartanburg Methodist College where she played under current Buccaneer Coach Heather Macy. She helped lead the Pioneers to a 21-8 mark, averaging 15.3 points per game and hitting 111 three-pointers. She set the record for most points made in a single game with 39 with 8 3-pointers. While with the Pioneers, she also served as a student assistant, coordinating travel itineraries and equipment inventories.
She closed out her career at NCAA Division II University of North Georgia, under coach Buffie Burson. In 83 games, she had 61 starts, averaged 9.2 points per game, and shot 41.4 percent from three-point range. The Nighthawks advanced all the way to the final four in 2021-22, going 29-4. While at UNG she set many records for the women’s basketball program.
Across her five years, she led her teams to a 97-34 record, averaging 10.4 points and making 371 triples at a 38.6 percent rate.
Earnhardt graduated with two degrees from the University of North Georgia, earning a B.S. in Psychology in 2022 and a B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2023. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology.
